Bonecrusher vs. BonecrusherDysart's unveils massive sandwich
in honor of reality TV starBy Katy England edge staff writer kengland@themaineedge.comHERMON " "American Loggers," the Discovery Channel's reality show focusing on Maine loggers, has been enjoying growing popularity, and one of the local loggers, Brian "BoneCrusher" Nutter, has become quite a character in the series. So much so that Dysart's Truck Stop in Hermon has named a new monstrous burger after the BoneCrusher, and they'll also be selling merchandise with the BoneCrusher's logo in the store.
The Pelletiers, who have been in the logging industry for generations, have had photos of their logging trucks up on the wall of Dysart's for years. So it's only natural that they'd celebrate the show's newfound fame with the incredible burger. When asked how the attention made him feel, Nutter said, "On top of the world. It's a little too much too fast." Nutter is pleased that the show is shedding light on the logging industry.
"People get to see what we really do," he said. "It's like everything; it's a job." "It's very informative. People didn't understand what we were doing," said Rudy Pelletier, who is also in the show. "I'm happy to see people getting something good out of it." Of course, hearing about the BoneCrusher and taking one on are two different things. The monstrous hamburger is composed of an entire pound of beef with the works, and then topped with onion rings to boot. A couple of buns and a side of fries can comfortably feed a family of four " and it tastes good, too. Of course, I only had half, and that was enough to put me in a food coma for the rest of the afternoon, but it was worth it. That's what investigative reporting is all about. The BoneCrusher, true to form, set to taking the daunting sandwich to task " but he wasn't splitting it with anybody. When Lena Pelletier offered him a knife to cut the burger, the BoneCrusher replied, "Do I look like a little boy or an Ice Road Trucker?"
